The elections were held in March and the new club officers are listed below. There has been a lot of discussion within the club wanting more classes to be taught. We all have areas of our hobby that we excel in and others that we would like to learn more about. If you would like to suggest a topic for a class or volunteer to give a presentation about a given subject lets bring it up at the meetings. Discussion has only been general about this so far so no classes have been scheduled and few have stepped forward to volunteer to present a class. Suggestions will be put before the club to ask for volunteers to do a presentation and if a member has a particular strength in an area they could possibly be asked directly to give a class.

The Morse Code class has been wrapped up and we have conducted our testing. The QRP class will begin April 2, 2012 and promises to be a lot of fun since we will be building our own equipment. Austin Mann, KA5MAN the founder of the Golden Triangle Amateur CW QRP Society has been teaching the Morse Code class and is doing a great job. It is difficult to find those willing to teach morse code and on behalf of our humble class I would like to personally thank Austin for the time and effort he has invested in our learning the code. To anyone who is interested in the QRP part of the class please call or text Austin Mann at 662-251-9800 or you can e-mail the Golden Triangle Amateur CW QRP Society at : goldentriangleacqs@gmail.com . The class location will be at the Lowndes County Amateur Radio Club, club house on Lawrence Drive. This class is free to everyone. If you are planning to attend and you know someone who would like to be in the class please bring them with you. The QRP classes will be on Monday and Thursday nights at 6:30 PM starting Monday; April 2, 2012.
